Mindful Moments: Spiced Tea
Settle down next to a roaring fire, cuddle up and bring the festive markets home.
This year you can do it in your jammies and sip on our festive Spiced Tea.
We might be celebrating Christmas a little differently this year, but it doesn't mean we can't celebrate. With this spiced tea we wanted to evoke the festive favourite drink, mulled wine. We have zesty fruits encased in rich spicy cinnamon and clove create the snuggliest atmosphere. It's a non-alcoholic treat the whole family can enjoy making and drinking.
History:
Mulled wine originated in the second century.
It was created by the Romans who would heat wine to defend their bodies against the cold winter. As the Romans conquered much of Europe throughout the next century, their love for mulled wine spread across their empire and the regions they traded with.
Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 240ml water
- 120ml apple juice
- 1 heaping tablespoon of the Mindful Moments Spiced Tea
- Orange rind (optional)
Method:
- Bring water and apple juice to a simmer in a small saucepan on the stove.
- Reduce heat and add in Spiced Tea.
- Wait for tea to steep.
- Strain the warm spiced mixture into a mug; this will hold back the orange rind and tea leaves.
Scale the measurements above to the number of servings you need.
